Yeah it's weird. NFL coaches have much more impact on the outcome of the game than NBA coaches.

It seemed to be Lebron-mania at MSG tonight. I think the Knicks are going to snag him in 2 years.

On another note, the Wizards demolished the Warriors after Eddie Jordan was fired. Caron Butler dropped 35.Youngins Javale Mcgee and Blatch did their part too. When Gilbert and Haywood come back this team could be a darkhorse.

I like the Wizards, but I think they'll need to play D if they want to be in the thick of things. Right now they have to get to .500 first.

Here's an interview with Lebron that aired yesterday. Unfortunately Stephen A. Smith is conducting.

Right now I think the Cavs are going to beat the Celtics and get to the Finals.

Um you do realize the Knicks could be +$50mil under the cap by 2010 right? That's 2 max contracts and then have like $10mil left over.

I think the Knicks are getting two superstars in 2010.

One will be Lebron.

I just think 2 years is a long time to be predicting a person's movement. So much shit can happen in 2 years, getting your hopes up for such a long time could be a setup for some serious heartbreak

That said, having such high hopes comes hand in hand with rabid fanaticism (which I fully understand and support)... so I'll leave you with the high hopes dudes.

I'm not a Knicks fan, but I am a Lebron fan. It's a guess at this point, but I think NY is where he'll go. He's said he wants to be the richest person in the world and hasn't said much that makes me think he'll stay in Cleveland.

And the saga continues...

Marbury suspended, docked about $400,000 by Knicks

....

The disgruntled guard insists he never told coach Mike D'Antoni "no" and plans to appeal.

Just another chapter in Marbury's turbulent tenure with his hometown team.

D'Antoni wouldn't go into specifics of their conversation that took place before Wednesday's loss in Detroit, though he made it clear he asked the point guard to play because the Knicks were short-handed.

"I don't want to get into it, guys. I think I already told you, I asked him to play. We just asked. You're a coach, and we needed him to play," D'Antoni said after practice Friday. "So I don't really have a whole lot to say. There's nothing I can say right now. I've already said the piece and what I said from my viewpoint is what happened. So we'll just leave it at that."

Marbury will not be paid when he sits out Saturday's home game against Golden State and will lose an additional game's pay for Wednesday's actions. He earns approximately $21 million in salary this year, drawing about $190,000 a game.

....

On Wednesday, however, guards Nate Robinson and Cuttino Mobley were unavailable, again leaving the Knicks with seven healthy players, but Marbury was not in uniform. Knicks forward Quentin Richardson ripped Marbury after the game, telling reporters, "I don't look at him as a teammate because teammates don't do that."

 Well, someone is lying.

It is to early to tell what's going to happen but I don't believe  it's a pipe dream to think the Knicks are going to make at least two major acquisitions between 09 and 10. It may not be LBJ and Bosh but it will be big.

As for the Marbury episodes, I can't say there is any reason to trust Stephon at this point.  Q Rich has no motivation to side with the Knicks in this mess as he most likely won't be on the team much longer himself. There is a reason Marbury has a league-wide reputation as a team cancer. If he kept his giant ego in check it's possible that he could have won a ring with either the TWolves or the Suns. Instead he'll forever be remembered as the biggest waste of money and talent in NBA history.

I know everyone seems to hate Marbury now, but I find the guy interesting and a good player. This quote I thought was great....

In another exclusive interview with The Post, Marbury said, "I sat there for three weeks and didn't say one word. I didn't hear one of my teammates say, 'Why isn't Stephon Marbury playing? This is a good system for him, even to play with the second unit to bring more firepower.'

"When things got bad and then worse, guys like Quentin Richardson say, 'I don't consider him a teammate. He let his teammates out to dry.' He didn't care I was his teammate when I was banished. They left me out for dead. It's like we're in a foxhole and I'm facing the other way. If I got shot in the head, at least you want to get shot by the enemy. I got shot in the head by my own guys in my foxhole. And they didn't even give me an honorable death."
