Mahjongg: an addictive Asian game involving tiles. Mahjongg: also an avant-garde rock band out of Chicago that plies an African-accented sound quite popular these days (see also Vampire Weekend, Yeasayer). Mahjongg is set to release its sophomore album, Kontpab, on its new home of K Records on February 12. It will be the follow-up to 2005's Raydoncong. The band recorded Kontpab in its own studio in the Windy City with Benjamin Balcom, who also worked with Mahjongg on Raydoncong.
