SlotMusic, the music industry’s latest new media fad (hey remember USB albums?), are now shipping. As you’ll remember, SlotMusic are essentially smaller MiniDisks, that will come with MP3s of albums pre-loaded, and be able to be transferred to phones and computers. Basically, the music industry thinks the reason you don’t buy albums in brick stores anymore is because you can’t put the album on your phone and you hate the inconvenience of CDs.  

At any rate, SlotMusic is being given the benefit of a massive catalog rollout (unlike the ringle, which was given basically no large catalog roll-out) so, it is at least in the best position it can be before being quickly forgotten.
